We're human, we're amnesia machines
But if we were not able to forget? If every time that we were wrong, we're all ashamed of ourselves ... if any remorse, any fault in the brain was impressed as vivid as the moment when it really happened? Can you think of something else? Will we live? Or how would those who are open to contemplation of Zahir, lost to the world of things ...
then maybe we would not be destined to relive endlessly the same story, same time? And I say, ad infinitum .. also because our mental time would need to bow to the memory. Just a second thought to relive the story over and over again (or to give us the impression of infinite times), just a moment to relive our entire human history ..
If you want the literary examples of such "paradoxes" of mind and time, there are "The Secret Miracle" by Borges (to whom I owe the discovery of the Zahir) and "The end of the world and the country of wonders" of Murakami .. The quote
instead of the title is much to be geek, no?
